Several different options on restoring people’s periodontal and gum health and one of those is through ETS, through the guided biofilm therapy that the hygienists utilize. And if we get to a point where the diagnosis or the periodontal disease is at a certain level, we are able to utilize, there is some ozone treatment that we can use and we’re also able to utilize the Fotona Lightwalker laser for a laser procedure, which is a great alternative to traditional periodontal surgery. And basically it’s a series of passes around each tooth with two different lasers.rnrnIt’s not painful, it’s very comfortable, people don’t have any problems with that and we have really good success on reestablishing the connective tissue and hopefully stopping the progression of periodontal disease and helping people get into a much healthier position.rn
When You Need a Deep Cleaning
A standard cleaning polishes above the gumline. A deep cleaning is recommended when measurements show deeper pockets, bleeding, or early bone loss. We start with Guided Biofilm Therapy so the cleaning is targeted, then smooth the tooth roots so your gums can reattach. Many patients are treated comfortably; for sensitive areas we can numb the site.
Afterward, we recommend a personalized maintenance interval – for some patients every three or four months – to keep gum disease from returning. If your gums need more support, we will discuss our nonsurgical gum disease treatment options.
